May is a very important month for those involved in the LGBTQ+ community. In the first weekend of May comes North Hampton’s Gay Pride Parade from 11am to 5pm.  People from all over come to celebrate and and represent their pride in their sexual orientation and gender indentity regardless of their heritage, religious beliefs, and race. However this year, Hot Topic has brought a little competition for this May.

Working alongside Fan Factory, Hot Topic has posted about a design contest for pride t-shirts. The prizes for the chosen winner include, $2000 in cash, their design sold in t-shirt format at Hot Topic establishments, and a potential deal with Hot Topic. For those who do not plan on entering, they can still vote from April 4th, 2018 to May 16th, 2018 for their favorite designs. Submissions are being accepted until May 9th, 2018. Finalists also get their designs on the website and available for purchase but will not receive the $2000.

Along with that once the choices are narrowed down by votes their are three select judges to decide the winner. Ed Lebay, the Vice President and GMM of Hot Topic since 2007, Mandy, a well-known supporter of Hot Topic, and finally  Biblegirl, a drag queen and marketer on social media.

As a huge supporter, an active member of the Palmer High GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) I plan on submitted a design on the May 9th Deadline, but anyone else interested in submitting or voting can get more information on the website here.
