Have you ever wondered what it would be like to sleep in a potato? Well, for the 2% that answered yes, now you can! While traveling down Route 66, you can now take a break from driving and sleep in the a-peeling potato hotel.

This 28 feet long potato comes with a built-in fireplace, bed, and an AC unit. To the human eye this potato may look like it is real, but it is completely made out of tubing and plaster! The potato was supposed to have a year-long tour. It ended up traveling the country for seven years, finally retiring in 2019. After the tour ended, a decorator came to the owners and asked to add a spa bathroom. This giant plaster potato is now up for rent to sleep or even live in. For around $200 you can sleep in it overnight or rent it for a month for $1,200.

Being a historical landmark, this price range is set at a pretty low price point. If you are ever driving down Route 66, need a rest from driving and have $200 to spare, go try and sleep in a potato – not many can say they have.
