On Saturday, April 28th, 2018 Horace Mann Educational Association’s Autism Resource Central is hosting a 5K run. This event will be located at Department of Conservation and Recreation’s Quinsigamond State Park 284 Lake Avenue, Worcester, MA for autism acceptance and awareness. Their main goal is to raise money for those with autism and to help them and their families to obtain resources, information and support so that they may thrive in our communities. So far they have raised $67,809 out of their goal of $200,000. Their mission is to help children and adults become healthy and productive members of society. They are hoping to raise about $100 for each family that participates in the race. All donations and proceeds go to the Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts. HMEA’s mission is to host this event to build our communities together with support by helping each person struggling with autism in Massachusetts.

The run and walk begins at 10 a.m., and the award ceremony is at 10:50 a.m. Starting at 11:15 a.m. kids three to twelve can participate in a Kids Fun Run Obstacle Course for only a fee of five dollars. For those who would like to participate, it costs thirty dollars to run, and it costs ten dollars to walk. You can register by arriving at the event at 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. or by registering online here.
